This industry leader provides advanced technology for complex and special purpose Materials Handling Machinery. Due to expansion and improvement of their services they now require a highly skilled engineer to ensure optimum effectiveness for their complex automated for PLC and PC controlled machinery projects.
The Controls Project Engineer will play a pivotal role in development & deployment of electrical controls systems , this includes engineering design & research, documentation, testing, commissioning and training. There is a responsibility for implementation of the on-time, within budget and delivery of the controls aspects of a project in a cost-effective manner and according to pre-determined standards and practices.
Your role is responsible for the technical solution to the Electrical components of project, including:
• Leading the project controls team
• Engineering Standards & functional specification
• Budgets & Cost controls
• OH&S
• Hardware design drawings
• Manufacturing & installations specifications and planning
• PLC & SCADA specifications
• Procurement & Supply
• Installation, testing & commissioning
• Training, support and project handover for customer acceptance
This includes:
I. Conceptual and detailed design of the controls elements of machines/systems
II. Electrical interfacing of machines/systems in integrated system consisting with other. equipment.
III. Project standard practices and procedures including Occupational Health and Safety
IV. Customer and commercial acceptances
V. Communicating internally and externally regarding technical input and other vital information
VI. Customer liaison on quality, conformance and commercial issues
You qualifications and experience will include:
• Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering degree or similar
• Electrical project delivery and design
• 3+ years experience in complex detailed Electrical Design with electrical control systems circuits
• Knowledge of Australian Safety Standards and understanding of safety category ratings
• Knowledge and experience designing Materials Handling, Food Processing or Robotics or, High Speed Automated Manufacturing.
• Understanding of electrical / mechanical concepts such as power ratings, current calculations and cable sizing Risk Assessment
• Solid knowledge of PLC‘s, SCADA and related technology
• Sourcing and supervising outsourced services and components
• Managing project financials aspects
