BDM / Senior Sales Engineer – Industrial Automation, Controls & Technology

This established and growing leader in the industrial technology sector provides world leading brands of reputable Automation products and services to the Industrial, Electrical and end user markets. They further add value by delivering successfully of highly demanding projects.
They are experiencing phenomenal growth which they plan to continue. Due to planned strategic expansion and business growth they now require a skilled BDM/Sales Engineer to further grow their Australian market and bring new technology to current and future customers.
In this role you will design and drive the future of sales, revenue development and marketing. You will be responsible for business development into new sectors and account leveraging into existing and new clients.
Your role is to manage the whole sales cycle from lead generation, identification of client requirements, qualification of the requirements and closing the deal. Your target market is predominantly vertical, depending on the solutions and products you want to sell, and the decision makers range from operations level through to engineering and senior management.
You will also be responsible for:
- Input into planning sales strategies
- Preparing quotations & tenders submissions
- Providing applications advice and technical sales support
- Team leadership as this role grows
Your qualifications experience & attributes:
- Technically astute with an engineering background and qualifications
- A successful background selling PLC’s, drives and motors and other electrical technical products and solutions to the OEM’s and End User markets, particularly manufacturing, mining, heavy industry and infrastructure
- Solid knowledge of power, automation & controls applications
- Exceptional communication & negotiation skills
- Skills identifying, developing and closing throughout the entire sales cycles
- Abilities to strengthen and maintain key relationships with a proven track record in solution sales
- Self managed and demonstrate skills to grow a team
As this role is Sydney based there will be substantial business related travel
